Abstract
Our paper deals with heart rate detection using microcontroller (Arduino Atmega328). Heart rate is estimated as number of times the heart beats per minute. Diverse physiological conditions, for example, excessive physical workload, workload tensions, extra focus required to complete assigned official work, concentration, and the dynamic condition of the autonomic nervous system is reflected in the heart beat rate. Heart beat can be estimated either by the ECG waveform or by pulse sensing. It depends on the musical extension and compression of a conduit as blood is constrained through it by withdrawals of the heart at standard interims. This rhythmic expansion and contraction can be detected from areas where the artery is closed to skin such as near the finger tips.
