The answer is simple: Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to software, like ChatGPT, that is capable of answering a question (or request) and giving a response that creates a human-like conversation. For example, if we asked an AI tool to explain what caused World War II, its response would include several explanatory paragraphs, just as if you had asked this question of a human. AI tools like ChatGPT are different from search engines that take you to web pages that can answer your question.
