Biomedical Text Mining

Abstract

Text Mining when applied in the field of biomedical helps one to understand the disease generation mechanism, curing the disease, developing and improving the disease diagnosis technology, and also helps in the development of drugs. This has been extensively used by biomedical community because the volume of biological literature is very huge, and it becomes very difficult for them to extract relevant information from these documents. This chapter overviews about the biomedical text mining, Applications of Biomedical Text mining, Recourses Used in Biomedical text mining and the task performed in it.
