Abstract

Advancement in the field of science and technology is just reaching the far ends of human thought and imagination hence revolutionizing the importance of terrestrial and maritime robotic systems in disaster relief, search and rescue (SAR) and salvage operations. According to the surveys it has been confirmed that for the first time this robots were deployed to explore the remains below the malformed twin towers of the World Trade Centre in New York after the September 2001 terrorist attacks. With the passage of time the impact of flood hurricanes and earthquakes are increasing so the call for robots for all phases of a catastrophic conditions, from deterrence to reaction and revival, will increase as well. It has been found that robots can even play a crucial role in disaster relief by inspecting critical underwater infrastructure and mapping damage. Through this paper an extra emphasis is laid down on the positive going graph of robots that enlightens the importance of application of AI on robots in case of disaster management.
