Abstract

This paper involves implementation of line follower robot ‘without’ using any microcontroller. It’s purely a piece of Analog and (combinational or sequential) Digital logics that will guide the robot on a known path. Only the electronics hardware (without any microcontroller) will guide the robot and will even take decisions on its way. There won’t be any sort of programming or any interface with PC. The paper emphasizes on the wok of designing a robot using the basics of electronics i.e. Analog and digital logic thus demonstrating the importance of this two fields in electronics.

The specialty of this paper is that unlike the traditional non-microcontroller based line follower which uses only two IR sensors for maneuvering the robot at a limited speed, this design can implement more than two IR sensors thus improving the accuracy and speed of the robot.
