Abstract

During 2001 the population of the cutworm was not found to be significantly correlated to either temperature and relative humidity but it was found to be correlated to both maximum and minimum temperature significantly (r= -0.967 and r = +0.997 respectively). Similarly it was also found to be indirectly correlated to both the maximum temperature and maximum relative humidity (r=-0.873 and r= -0.952 respectively). During 2002 the cutworm population was found to be indirectly correlated to maximum temperature alone in zaid season. However, in kharif season it was found to be directly correlated to the minimum temperature but in rabi season it was correlated significantly and directly to maximum temperature minimum temperature and maximum relative humidity (r= +0.979, +0.752 and +0.982 respectively).
