SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSIS BY SWEDISH CIRCLE & FELLENIUS METHOD

Abstract
Stability of slope is very important in embankments and land sliding studied in road projects. The objectives is to check the validity of Fellenious method of locating the centre of rotation by comparing with arbitrary centre of rotation in a grid from the factor of safeties are found by Swedish circle method by assuming 5 slices of equal width. At the end of study the variations is found out in the value of ‘β’ and the location of the minimum factor of safety.
