A STUDY REVIEW ON BAMBOO AS REINFORCEMENT IN CEMENT CONCRETE

Abstract

Bamboo is a natural occurring material that can be used for the construction. Bamboo is light weight material and very strong in the compression as well as tension, therefore it is very suitable for building structures of great height. Bamboo has been used for constructing huts, poles, and bridges. Due to its high productivity and availability it can be used for construction now days. Since its tensile strength is high it can be used as reinforcement in cement concrete. This paper presents the recent study about the use of bamboo as reinforcement.
