SIESMIC SAFETY ESTIMATION FOR HOSPITALS IN BANGKOK, A RISK-TARGETED GROUND MOTION CALCULATOR

Abstract

An important concern in civil engineering is seismic safety. This is a big issue in any areas with risk due to earthquake. In Thailand, the earthquake sporadically occurs. For many centuries, there has been no big earthquake in Thailand. Nevertheless, this does not means that there is no risk. The effect on the large public building is of interest. Here, the author focuses the interesting on hospitals. The situation in Bangkok, capital is studied. The siesmic safety estimation for hospitals in Bangkok, bya Risk-Targeted Ground Motion Calculator assessment is done and presented.
