Abstract

Present world is suffering from serious pollution is resulted from fuel. Thus, we use nonpolluting solar energy as solution of it. CdTe having bandgap 1.5eV is now regarded as leading material as cost effective photovoltaics (PV). For the difference in bandgap of CdS and CdTe, CdS is selected as window layer. The methods- Closed space sublimation (CSS), Physical vapour deposition (PVD), Vapour transport deposition (VTD) are used to produce CdTe cell. Temperature had an adverse effect on efficiency of solar cell. CdS was for a long-time considered to be essential in achieving higher efficiency. The CdS have various methods such as Electro deposition, thermal evaporation, spray, chemical bath deposition. For efficient thin film solar cell transparent conductive oxide (TCO) are needed as front side contact. BSF is used to reduce the back-surface recombination velocity in solar cell. The performances of the cell with ZnTe, BSF have shown better stability than other cells.
