REVIEW PAPER ON VEHICULAR COMMUNICATION

Abstract

The absolute number of vehicles in the world is increasing day by day which results in more accidents. Therefore to avoid the accidents, we need to increase the road safety. The sound development in the wireless technologies emerged different new type of networks, such as Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET), which provides communication between the vehicles and between vehicles and road side units. Various advanced concepts such as smart cities and living labs [1] are found in the recent years where VANETs plays an essential role. In this paper, a review on various Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) and various vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communication technologies are proposed. In this framework, we have also paid attention on a simple, reliable and efficient V2V communication technology to reduce traffic collisions. It’s a cost effective system which is able to reduce the road accident and also it can be helpful for the drivers. This system would support drivers with driving process in order to avoid traffic accidents, to speed up the traffic and to have a higher control over the traffic in general. In addition we focused on the vehicular communication systems.
